For only the pure can ascend to live among the Gods. You have been Chosen.
This world is inherently flawed. Only through purification can the world be raised anew. And from the ashes, a new world order will assemble. Only here can the Chosen be absolved of the worldly sins. The guilty deserve to be punished. The reckoning is upon us, and through fire and flames, the Chosen, too, will become Gods. You, too, are a vessel. You have been selected for your righteousness to aid in the purge of this world. And when the world has been cleansed, you will be afforded everything your heart may desire.
You are Chosen. You will bring about the Rapture.

From the start of time, Leviathan was destined to be more. Born to the Emperor of Kairos and the Seraphim of Valyn, the male was of the noblest bloodlines. And yet there would be many moons before he found his purpose. And from the first taste of his brother's blood in his maw, the future was clear. He was sent to cleanse this world, and his beloved V was to be his mortal companion. In the body of his mother's and half-brother's daughter was his reward for righteousness. And from the womb of a Goddess, the pair would be able to create their own Eden. Their Sanctuary. Their Sanctum.
To this pair of monsters, three children were born. Asmodeus, Arael, and Sariel. Their empire built upon itself slowly, but it soon soured. With his father falling deathly ill and his mother and sister nowhere to be found, the young Asmodeus took it upon himself to take over ownership of the pack, preventing it from falling into an almost certain doom by continuing the legacy of his bloodline. He will be a God. He will purge the unworthy. And Anikira will learn to tremble at his feet.

The Gods: An uncontested measure of control. The Gods dictate all workings within Sanctum. They dictate the pairings between the Chosen from birth. Only the Gods can opt to bring those from outside the bloodline to Sanctum after rigorous testing of their loyalties and purity.
The Chosen: The ascended of the pack. The Chosen are identified from birth and are born from within the pack or, in rare occasions, identified from litters outside the pack and brought into the fold. These pups are marked by the Gods as being touched with unrivaled purity. The ranked is assigned at birth at the same time they are betrothed to their Intended. Those who choose to rebuke their Intended will be cast out of Sanctum if they manage to escape with their lives.
The Purified: Those from outside the bloodline who have been deemed worthy. These wolves have been judged and found pure by the Gods. Though unable to ascend beyond the rank of Purified, these wolves have the potential to be blessed with pups worthy of the Chosen. Additionally, in some circumstances a Chosen pup may be betrothed to a member of the Purified, although it is extremely rare. This typically occurs in the event of an uneven number of pups born within a breeding season.
The Seekers: Wolves from outside seeking a home within Sanctum. Though only provisionally considered a member of the pack, Seekers must be found to be pure by one of the Gods in order to ascend to the Purified. Wolves may not remain at this rank indefinitely, as if they are not able to prove their loyalty, they will be reduced to the Wicked or killed.

The Tainted: The vile. The scourge. Those pups identified from birth who have no place within the purity of Sanctum. The Tainted are retained for the sole purpose of bartering trades with other factions or packs. If they are not claimed by another faction before the eve of their second moon, they are sentenced to die.
The Wicked: Prisoners of the pack. These are wolves either deemed by the Gods as potential vessels for future Chosen that will remain long enough to birth litters to the Gods, or wolves that have failed to prove their worthiness in order to ascend. The Wicked are likely to be traded to other factions or packs, potentially in exchange for pups that have been identified by the Gods as Chosen from birth from outside of the pack. The Wicked retain no bodily rights or freedoms of their own. They are little more than property to the Gods, the Chosen, and the Purified.

Wolves that are not born into Sanctum must be vetted for their loyalty. Though Asmodeus does not consider unnatural markings as tainted, wolves that are not physically whole will be considered Tainted and not allowed to join. In addition, he will vet wolves for their loyalty prior to accepting them into the pack. Wolves must be found to be loyal to the Gods and hold an honest belief in the purity of the Chosen and acknowledge that they are only a single step below those Chosen at birth by choosing to be Purified and join Sanctum. The Gods are considered the unquestioned authority within Sanctum.
Please note that joining may look different to every wolf. This is not a pack that a wolf merely shows up on the border and asks to join. This is the start of the process, but it does not ensure that a wolf is accepted. Asmodeus or Arael will determine whether a wolf has potential initially (and the criteria may very) based on a variety of reasons. If found to be a possible outsider worthy of Sanctum, these wolves must satisfy a number of tasks set for them by the Gods. If able to succeed and swear their loyalty, these wolves will rise to the Purified. If unable to do so within a set amount of time, they will be cast out or, in extreme cases, killed for their failure to appease the Gods.

Trials: Any wolf born outside of Sanctum that wishes to join must subject themselves to a Trial by the Gods. The catch of the trials is that no two trials may be the same. A trial will be administered to a Seeker at their request by whichever one of the Gods they choose. The trial is intended to prove undying loyalty to Sanctum and provide that wolf a path to cleansing. Trials can be discussed ahead of time out of character, but the players of the Gods are not required to give players a heads up on the content of the wolf's trial. A wolf is given three attempts to successfully complete a trial before they are discarded from the pack. It is recommended that a wolf does not rush into their trial immediately; the Gods are typically more lenient in their trials with wolves who take time to assimilate within Sanctum and learn the ways prior to requesting a trial. The newer a Seeker is to the pack, the more difficult the God is likely to make their trial.
Intendeds: A designated Intended is assigned by Asmodeus when pups are born in the pack. If multiple females are expecting within the season, unless he so chooses to assign a betrothal immediately upon birth, an Intended may not be assigned immediately if there is not a viable candidate to do so. Pups must be assigned an Intended before they are two months old (OOC) or they will not be eligible to be a Chosen and will likely be designated for slave trading. In the event there are an uneven number of pups, or an uneven balance of males and females, a pup may then be betrothed to a Purified at that point. Though the Purified does not ascend to the rank of Chosen in this case, they are afforded much of the same grandeur that the Chosen are as they have been designated as a worthy partner to a Chosen.
Execution: Wolves who defy the laws of the pack may be subject to an execution order. An execution order is issued on any wolf that manages to escape the pack in tact; it is strongly advised that characters do not attempt to leave if they do not want to be constantly stalked across the continent. When an execution order is issued, wolves within the Chosen and the Purified have the opportunity to volunteer to enact the order. If they are successful in the execution of the target, these wolves will be lauded with praise and elevated as superior to their peers. Execution orders are not necessarily instituted on wolves that fail their trials. These are typically reserved for defiant members or those who have passed their trials and choose to defy the laws of Sanctum.

This pack is strongly based in incest.
The majority of pairings created between the Chosen will be siblings, cousins, etc. Asmodeus and Arael are siblings themselves. The pack WILL be violent. Any pups born in the pack, whether to the Chosen, the Gods, or the Purified, are subject to purging by the Gods. This means that they will be labeled as one of the Tainted. If they can be bartered or discarded to another pack, they will be separated from their families. Any defiance of this process will end with the defiant party likely challenged to death. If they manage to escape alive, it is likely that Asmodeus will hunt them - or send a hunting crew after them - until they were dead.
Not every wolf within this pack is insane. But a wolf does not have to be insane to believe what they have been indoctrinated with since birth.
Similarly, though wolves are mated off as pups, and they are expected to mate with their Intended in order to bring about pups that are ultimately deemed to be part of the Chosen, these wolves are not restricted to remaining faithful to their Intended. This applies to both males and females. It is possible that pups conceived from outside of a bonded Intended companion may ultimately be deemed as Tainted by the Gods (even if there are not any birth defects, etc). If straying with one of the Purified, these pups may still be considered pure. Pups born to the Wicked may or may not be considered worthy of being part of the Chosen, and it is far more likely for a male to sire pups with a female Wicked than a female to have pups sired by a male Wicked for this reason. The only surefire pups to ascend to the Chosen are those born from within a bonded pair of Intendeds, or those sired by the Gods themselves. This does not necessarily mean any pups sired by Asmodeus outside of his pairing with Arael will be Chosen; merely that there is still a chance.
