Cencalli Pack
#29853c![]()
D E S C R I P T I O N
A pack where everyone is welcome, where every wolf has a place so long as they are willing to do their part, whether as a warrior for the pack to protect its borders or in their time of need should fighting be necessary, a hunter to ensure no one goes hungry, or any other position the Reyes offer. Coming from a pack that believed certain wolves did not deserve to live for ill-fated beliefs about demons, the brothers know all too well that it is not right to judge others based on looks alone. While everyone is welcome, it does not mean the pack is a lawless bunch. The rules the brothers impose upon all are simple… respect for each other and especially those of higher rank, do no harm to others who did you no wrong, and pay your debts. Those who do not abide by such simple rules, or any other decrees that the Reyes set forth, are justly punished usually by means of holding a servant rank for a period of time but if the crime is severe enough, death is not beyond the realm of consequences.
The pack also celebrates together as a family, when a pup comes of age and takes their official rank within Cencalli or when a pair of wolves officially declares themselves mates (with the blessing of the Reyes), among other milestones reached by the pack’s members, by hunting the lead stallion of the resident band of wild horses altogether and letting the celebrated wolf (wolves) take the first bite. The other celebration in Cencalli revolves around those with blue eyes… where Khal and Drogo’s natal pack had ritualistically killed them as demons, the brothers now celebrate these individuals by personally catching them a meal to welcome them to the pack. The brothers believe that in this small fashion they can honor the lives of the blue eyed females their natal pack had killed simply for having blue eyes, or at the very least begin to do so..
H I S T O R Y
In decades past a pack had been formed in the southern-central areas of Anikira, a small one that many knew little about… but they knew it was led by females and followed a Matriarchy. The pack held the belief that demons walked among them and constantly tried to bend them to do their will… and the only way to know when a demon was nearby was by the color of a female’s eyes… if her eyes were blue, she was in fact a demon in disguise and the pack would make sure to end its life. This applied both to females found wandering their territory as much as it did female pups born within their ranks with eyes that never changed color as they grew up. For the females born within the pack, a ritual was held after the pups were past their 2 months of age, the time by which their true eye color would be set, and if their eyes were still blue, the females would be ritualistically killed at a specific spot within the territory. There were those who did not agree with such beliefs, once they made their stance known they would be exiled… but immediately hunted down in a very unceremonious fashion to maintain the secrecy of their existence. There were few and far between that escaped the pack with their lives, but as the years passed, more and more of the youth would see the wrongdoing in the pack’s beliefs and seek their escape.
Drogo and Khal would be a couple of those who would escape, alongside their dear Rue. The two had been born with not one, but two sisters whose eyes never changed color… and the night that they were slaughtered before the entire pack, the pair had vowed to themselves that they would never participate in such actions… judging simply on the color of one’s eyes. As they grew up they even came to question the legitimacy of demons walking among them, convinced that the true demons already lived within the elders that kept the barbaric tradition going. When they found Rue, they had known that she would never be allowed to live with them… and with how small and appealing she was, Khal could not bring himself even to risk them finding her… but they were young, still pups in the eyes of time. Their best idea had been to hide her away and raise her themselves, despite her being only slightly younger than they were, and surprisingly it had worked with the help of the waterways of their lands and the rocks that were so easily washed of anyone’s scent. When a hunting party came too close to discovering her just a short time before their second birthday though, they decided to make a run for it, leaving everything they had ever known and venturing out to create their own lives.
After months of running and covering their tracks as best as they could, Drogo and Khal would come to settle in the lands of Syhrda… there had been no sign of their natal pack for weeks and after a few months of them living within these lands, the brothers came to the conclusion that it was time they settle and create a home that would provide a safe place for any wolves in need, whether they were just down on their luck or they had been exiled from their insane pack. The brothers do not believe in wolves being intrinsically bad or that demons walked among them, they believe that those that truly want to be a part of something will do whatever it takes to stay in it. Cencalli is a place where wolves of all walks of life are welcome as long as they contribute their share to maintain the pack.

Reyes - Kings - The ruler(s) of Cencalli. Their word is law, equally. Neither of the two carry more power than the other and unless the matter is of great importance and would impact the entire pack, the two are so close that they need not discuss decisions with each other.
Reina - Queen - The partner(s) of the King(s), typically also their mate(s). Where the Reyes have final say in all matters, the Reinas’ opinions are often taken into consideration for larger decisions. They rank above all except the Reyes, their main responsibilities include organizing the celebratory pack hunts with the Cazadores and planning shifts with the Niñeras as the pup season rolls through the land.
Projimos - Prodigies - The pups born between the Reyes and Reinas, of these pups the next Reyes will be chosen, typically within the last year or so of the current Reyes’ rule to ensure they are trained properly to take on the roles.
Leyendas - Legends - The elders of the pack. Typically wolves who may not be as strong or fast as they had been in their youth, those who were badly injured, or the retired Reyes of generations past. These wolves are often sought after for their wisdom.
Comandante - Commander - The second in command to the Reyes as well as the head of the Guerrero rank. This rank may be held by one or two wolves at any given time and are the most trusted by both of the Reyes, typically they also hold the most respect from those in the Guerrero and Cazador ranks.
Intocable - Untouchable - Wolves deemed precious by the Reyes, whether because they are taken as mates by them but are not fit to hold the position of Reina or young/new pack members of blue eyes that have not found their place in the pack. These wolves follow orders only from the Reyes, Reinas, or the Commandantes.
Guerrero - Warrior - The fighters of the pack, strong and able to hold their own in battle. They take charge of patrols and train amongst themselves, these are the wolves who protect the pack’s borders and the first line of defense in case of attack. They are expected to be in tip top shape at all times.
Cazador - Hunter - These wolves focus on tracking herds of prey through the territory as well as making sure members unable to hunt for themselves when they please, such as Leyendas or expecting females, always have food available.
Medico - Medic - The healers of the pack, proficient in herbs that both aid ailing pack members as well as those with a more sinister nature that can be used when trying to gather information by a certain amount of force or quietly get rid of someone.
Niñera - Babysitter - This is a temporary rank given to a couple of the females of the pack that gave birth, while all new mothers are expected to take their part in raising their pups the ones that are given this rank are the ones that focus solely on the well-being of the pups, making sure the medicos are informed of any illnesses and give their recommendations for ranks as they grow.
Cachorro - Puppy - The rank held by pups less than a year old. At the year mark they are given a new rank by the Comandante, often this will be what the Cachorro has chosen unless a Ninera, Leyenda, or a Rey insist they have a different role within Cencalli.
Sirviente - Servant - This rank is typically given to pack members for a set amount of time as punishment for breaking a law. They are to do as they are told by anyone of a Medico rank or higher as well as aid the Cazadores as needed to provide food for the pack. This rank is not a permanent position as Cencalli does not believe in slavery, but it can be used as a way to pay off debt within the pack.
Prisionero - Prisoner - Exactly as the name says, these are prisoners captioned either in times of war or as trespassers on Cencalli land. These wolves have no rights within the pack and are typically under guard by one or two Guerreros during their stay. These wolves will either be given their freedom in exchange for information, or traded back to their packs for resources the Cencalli needs. On very rare occasions, a Prisionero may be offered a position within Cencalli, though their loyalty will be tested as a Sirviente before they are granted an official rank.
