In ancient Greece and Rome, Theseus is one of the asylums for criminals facing persecution. These sanctuaries are known to be very religious in nature despite the individuals who inhabited it. Theseus is a pack of safe haven for the dangers of society, a breath of law into chaos, and a pack where all wolves have their place. While the members of Theseus may lie, cheat, steal, and kill those outside of it and do the same to those within the pack will stand united against outside threats.

The History of Theseus is written by many, and its story is not over yet.
Ultoris - by Severus
The following history was taken from the Ultoris pack page and is the intellectual property of Nia .
Ultoris was formed when Fury, an Arctic brute with a dream of redemption, came across a unique, underground territory known as Aleru. The male had washed up on the shores of Anikira just a few weeks earlier after his father banished him from Gantotas, a tiny island off the coast of Africa. He desperately wanted to create a pack that would not be solely focused on gaining military power like that of his father, but one that promoted good fortune and happiness for those with special abilities while also enabling these wolves to join together as a team to increase power. After searching the continent for a suitable home for what seemed like lifetimes, Fury came across Aleru, a mysterious-looking cavern complex that would soon become the home of a different kind of pack.
After spending the night within the cave which served as a home for many species of cave-dwelling prey, the brute met Captain. The two got along incredibly well, and with Captain as his Beta, Fury sent out the claiming howl he had always dreamed of. Two canines showed up shortly after the call was made. One was a Tundra brute named Severus, and the other was a Maned female named Widow. These four wolves would go on to be the founding members of Ultoris, and they were committed to avenge anything or anyone who stepped in their way of becoming the best pack they could possibly be.
However, one day, Fury and Captain disappeared without a word. The pack was destined to be disbanded, but the warrior Severus stepped up to the plate and became the new alpha.
Elysium - by Fel
Fel was young when he came across Mara, fleeing from his former pack with his brother, Fenrir, seeking security and power. Initially infatuated with the Devil eventually it turned to frustration with his place within the pack and the appearance of new rivals. Confronting Mara he was demoted to Duolos and left shortly after, but not for long. When he returned he challenged Mara in combat for her position within the pack. Emerging victorious Fel resolved to continue the ideals of Elysium under his own rule and to create a pack strong enough to wreak hell in heaven.
Elysium - by Yara
Not too long after giving birth to their first litter together, Fel announced that he was going to leave and take their only daughter with him. Elysium was now left in the hands of Yara who once dreamed of ruling a pack like her father had done. Things remained calm for awhile until a foreigner happened upon their lands. He was plagued with some kind of disease that Yara had never seen before and he was a good bit larger than her, leaving with little to no chance of beating him. Despite how the outcome was looking to be, Yara was determined to keep the integrity of the pack and Fel’s respect so she stood her ground. Ultimately, the outcome was what she expected it to be as the male was able to easily overpower her and landed a single hit that would be much more deadly than she originally thought.
Theseus - by Yara & Fel
After returning from his journey Fel was changed and Yara had ruled Elysium well during that time. From there a mutual respect grew and they resolved to create a pack that was different from their predecessors and their own. The death of their only daughter by outsiders so close to their borders as well as the attack on Yara prompted them to close the borders and consider what needed to be done to make their pack a place of safety not only for themselves and their growing family, but others like them.
R A N K S
Prota Tier
The leaders of the pack this position may be filled by either one or two wolves. Both of them are considered equal and neither one ranks higher than the other. The current Archon may choose to share the position with another, though once the decision is made the other Archon is treated the same as the previous one. Archons may punish lower ranking wolves, accept new wolves into the ranks of Theseus, oversee the trials of the youth, and manage the pack day to day.
Phaedra: None
The respected elders of the pack being old is insufficient reason to claim this rank. These are wolves who have proven themselves to be valuable members to the pack despite their advanced age. They are respected by other members of the pack, and have the Archon(s)’s ear.
Areopagus: Azariah
The heirs to the pack. These wolves need not be the offspring of either of the Archons, but they will have somehow proven themselves to be fit for the rank. While still in training to become an Archon these wolves may carry out the orders of the Archons in punishing lower ranking wolves, and starting hunts.
Phylakes Tier
Chiliarch: Stolas
The commander of the Phylakes and the wolf in charge of defending the heartland of Theseus the Chiliarch is a wolf to be respected within Theseus. The Chiliarch may temporarily accept wolves into the pack until they can be accepted by an Archon, and direct wolves within Aleru for security or safety reasons (e.g. ordering the relocation of the pups due to a predator). As a distinction of their rank the Chiliarch is allowed one personal Ecclesia who is not allowed to be ordered around by wolves besides those in the Prota tier.
Requirement for the role: The Chiliarch must participate in at least 1 thread in Aleru per month.
Phrourarch: Atrius
The second in command to the Chiliarch the Phrourarch answers only to the Chiliarch and the Archons. The Phrourarch is chosen by the Chiliarch, not the Archons, and is trusted by them to carry out their orders and lead the defense of Aleru in their absence.
Taxiarch: none
Defteros Tier
Frouros: Stark
The warriors of the pack. Their job is the defense of Theseus’ borders, and the protection of those among its ranks. They will defend any member of Theseus as an outsider attacking any property (Ecclesia or Akamas) or member of the pack is seen as a slight against their sovereignty.
Chorigos: Whisky
The hunters of the pack. Their job is to provide for the pack, specifically the pups and mothers during the birthing season. They are not required to hunt for the Ecclesia or Akamas unless ordered to by a higher ranking wolf or they may choose to as a favor for that wolf’s owner.
Giatros: None
The healers of the pack. Their job is to heal those who are sick and injured in Theseus. They are allowed to choose whether or not to heal the Ecclesia or Akamas or may do so at the discretion of either their owners or a higher ranking wolf.
Stratologon: Thesan
The recruiters of the pack. Their job is to both acquire new slaves to fill the ranks of Ecclesia (of which they will get second pick behind only the Archons) and to find wolves who may be worthy of filling the other ranks of Theseus. While these wolves may not accept any members within the pack except Ecclesia, they are implicitly trusted by the Archons to make wise decisions in who they invite into their borders to receive judgement.
Tritos Tier
Neos: none
The pups of the pack, even the children of Ecclesia or Akamas are seen as Neos. During the initial six months of their life they are safe from the violence of the rest of the pack and demotion to the Ecclesia rank. The exception to this rule is that within the first two months of a pup’s life they may be killed or traded away by either parent or an Archon as long as they possess some defect. After that six month period they may be traded to another pack, and demoted to the Ecclesia rank. Neos have no authority over any other members, and may escape the third tier by completing their trials.
Ecclesia: None
The slaves of the pack these wolves serve any wolf above them. While some ranks and specific members of Theseus may own specific slaves any slave must follow the orders of a higher ranking wolf as long as it does not contradict with the orders of the owners. They hold no authority in Theseus and the only thing protecting them against death and torture is if their specific owner claims that right to themselves.
Akamas: None
The prisoners of Theseus. These wolves are kept alive at the discretion of the Archons and are usually tortured for amusement or information or both until they succumb, escape, or are transferred into the ranks of Ecclesia.
C U S T O M S
Coming of Age
In order to move from the Neos to a youth’s choice of either Frouros, Chorigos, Giatros, or Stratologon they must first prove themselves through either Krypteia or Ekmetia. After this they may be mentored by any wolf within the Defteros Tier for their chosen rank.
Krypteia - Trial of the Body
In the Krypteia an individual’s strength is tested. The Krypteia is to enter into and win mediated combat with another wolf. It may be a wolf within or without Theseus as long as the Archon has sufficient proof that combat has been entered and the individual has won.
Ekmetia - Trial of the Mind
In the Ekmetia and individual’s wits are tested. The Ekmetia takes place between two wolves (the one undergoing the trial and the one administering it). The wolf administering the test will assemble several harmless flowers, although they will choose one to act as the “poisonous one.” They will then give a series of clues to reveal which one is poison. The individual must correctly identify the “poison”. The RPer will not be informed of the answer before their character has guessed the flower.
Trade
The trading of Ecclesia and even Neos above the age of 6 months or those with defects within the first 2 months is considered perfectly acceptable within Theseus. A mother wouldn’t be forced to give up a pup but if they do, it will gain them favor with the Archons.
