The Beginning

The Sacred Lives [Biographies]

Once you have read the rules and guidelines for creating your biography, here is your next task. Please fill out the form to create your biography. Whether your wolf is young, or old, black or white, this is your next stop on the way to role-playing. Let your creativity flow as you weave yourself into your character. You should not post IC until your character is accepted.

The Select Few [Accepted]

The lives of animals have always been governed by the rule of dog eat dog. Wolves that have been screened and deemed worthy of the honor of life can be found in this board. They are now allowed to join the circle of life and be swept away into the wonderful world. Whether they choose the path of good, evil, or merely indifference, each new addition is another leaf on the tree of life.

Event Characters

Characters that exist solely for an On-Site Event will have Biographies moved here.

The Graveyard [Deceased]

Life is a thing that comes and goes. It does not last forever. Many fall along the path. For those who have lost their lives in battle, or simply from the cruel streaks on nature snatching away the world’s most precious gift, here their memory will be engraved. Those biographies of wolves that have passed on will forever rest within this board so that their memory will live on.

Character Development

Every character needs to grow and change. It is part of what makes role-playing a unique and interesting hobby. Here, you can plot and scheme with others to create mini-plots or simply discuss ideas that will better (or worsen) your characters. It can be used to find someone to play a character from your past or build a relationship between two complete different wolves. You decide!

Character Logs

Welcome to the Character Logs. Here you can keep track of all your character information in one handy thread. You can store a thread history to keep track of the wolves your character has met or the places they've been - whatever takes your fancy. If you think something's important to your character, post it here.

A New Life [Puppy Births]

The gift of life is the greatest of the gifts to be given. Parenthood and puphood are intertwined. Those wolves that have mated and are expecting pups must inquire within. There are certain guidelines that must be met, and even greater, the spirits must decide whether the wolves are worthy to be given puppies to raise and train. These pups are the future of the continent, and they must be treated as such.

A Home Lost

No matter the cause, there are often characters that go untouched. Whether there be complications in role-playing or simply a lack of activity, wolves often go for long stretches of time without an owner. These characters are just waiting for someone to come along and snatch them up. If you seek to give a character a home, here is the place to search, but be aware that their past and personality already have been developed.

North Territories

Cryothia

A frosty wasteland of ice and bitterness, Cryothia is the remnants of the northern iceberg drifting into the north coast of Anikira. While the majority of the tundra is barren, striking ice caverns and crystalline caves dot the northwestern mountains, providing shelter to those that dare to venture forward.

Rynack

Also referred to as the Great Divide, Rynack is the long stretch between the northern Anikira lands and the frosty expanse of Cryothia. At the merger, the glacial waters often thaw and flow, providing a fresh water source to those who venture toward it. In some areas, the ice is fragile and extremely dangerous to cross.

Irengu Plains

Spanning the vast majority of Cryothia, this barren, icy wasteland is home to many arctic animals never before seen in Anikira, including seals, penguins, and the far more dangerous polar bears. While it may seem lifeless, this expanse is deadly, as the creatures that dwell here blend handily into their surroundings.

Kalas Mountains

Rising high above the flat lands of the tundra, Kalas Mountains provide protection and shelter from the brutal nights of the territory. The ice mountains are littered with caves, ranging from the smallest dens for the arctic fox and hare to the winding caverns that delve miles below the surface of the glacier.

Nal'Eny

Nal'Eny represents the largest cavern buried into the base of the Kalas Mountains. While there is the fear of stalactites falling to the cavern floor and shattering, the majority of the cave is safe and well protected from the elements. The open, spacious nature of the cave makes it an ideal den site.

Shyia

Shyia is located in the northwestern portion of the continent. It is one of the coldest territories in Anikira, but the trees still provide shelter to a multitude of species. Winter-coated wolves are well adapted to this territory. However, it is also a wonderful place for arctic foxes and snowshoe hares.

Lerelm

A tunnel worms its way under the mountains, carved out by years of erosion and shifting earth. The deeper it delves, the louder the trickles of water can be heard. The passageway explodes into a cavernous aquifer, buried below the surface for thousands of years. The fresh water is cool and never threatens to run low.

Tia'deli Mountains

The peaks of Tia-deli stretch high into the clouds. The mountains run from the western coast to the southern border of Shyia. While they are not nearly as cold as most mountain ranges, there are spots within the mountains that are treacherous in the dead of winter. The foliage is bursting with mid-sized animals that feast on the squirrels and rabbits.

Xayar Forest

The trees of Xayar Forest sprawl across the majority of Northwestern Anikira. The climate varies from colder and dryer in the North to the warmer, damp atmosphere of the South. Wildlife generally clusters in the southern forest, but more exotic animals, such as the arctic fox and snow hares, prefer the trees near the base of Tia’deli.

Issimor Caverns

Nestled against the Northwestern corner of the territory is a cavern. While it still technically falls beneath the mountain range, it rests on the beach. The sands and waves are visible from the entrance. However, in horrid storms, the lower chambers of the cave will fill with water. The location is pristine and calm, and it is rarely stumbled upon. Though the entrance is wide and inviting, few dare to venture in without invitation.

Pax

The tunnels of Anikira have recently become a more prominent means of travel between the regions. Pax is one such location that is not controlled by any claim, allowing wolves of the packs and loners alike to utilize this method of travel. This northern sanctuary is safe for all. Outside the tunnels, there are some areas that allow for hunting as well as resting.

Claimed By: Unclaimable

The Forgotten Underway

Though the tunnels span from one end of the continent to the other, the network of tunnels are considered to be wholly unclaimed, even those that connect with the pack lands throughout Anikira. Though they are dimly lit or completely black in areas, a wolf with a strong nose can navigate these regions to cross under territories undisturbed.

Siscarm's Garden

Though it is buried in the heart of a snowy mountain range, Siscarm's Garden is a brighten, open plain. There are scattered trees and ponds throughout the region, and during the spring and summer, the entire area is littered with a variety of wildflowers that brighten the landscape. It is a tranquil, serene area where even the wildlife appear to be at ease.

Ryn-Eldbel

Blessed with clear skies, Ryn-Eldbel is a human made ridge. TNT littered the ground with rough, jagged rocks though the summit is smooth and inhabitable. Large prey like to graze there. One ill blast by mankind created an entrance into an abandoned mine. Old mine carts and train tracks wind through various tunnels beneath the plateau.

Kiaou Mines

One of the remaining pieces of evidence of the human’s invasion is the Kiaou Mines. Here, the scientists dug deep beneath the plateau, extracting samples of the dirt and minerals. What they left was a hollow, man-made cave. Each area they chiseled into left another room, and daunting mine cart tracks lead across seemingly endless drops to other parts of the cavernous mines.

Tiayr

Tiayr is a portion of the northern territories. The landscape varies from cliffs to hills. It is a very hospitable environment despite its cooler temperatures. Nestled on the northeastern corner of the continent, Tiayr is a beautiful, full land that is suitable for hunting and roaming. The long line of cliffs drop to the ocean below.

Zozyr’s Glory

Ominous cliffs stretch across the Northeastern coast of Anikira. While at first glance they seem unnerving and deadly, they are actually teeming with life. Ledges and slopes provide methods of navigation, and the walls are covered with caves. The sheer wall is named for the legendary wolf Zozyr, one of the wolven gods believed to have formed the island.

Nyjoro Hills

The widespread hills of Nyjoro coat most of Tiayr and half of Caurus. These hills are bustling with life and vary in size from mere bumps to nearly mountainous mounds. They remain green year round, and the large game of the continent tend to wander the hills, including bison, caribou, and moose.

Ia'gha Lake

Hidden in a valley of Nyjoro Hills, Ia’gha Lake is slightly southwest of Zozyr’s Glory. The water is chilly year round; it is below sea level and rarely comes in contact with the sunlight. The lake is fed by a small tributary of Nytyte River that snakes through the hills. While the temperature is cold, some fish and water-dwelling critters still survive here.

Rarizu Overhang

Buried in the walls of Zozyr’s Glory, an inhabitable cavern dangles with the rest. The entrance is shielded with brush and rocks, but the view from the cave is stunning. Wolves can see for miles across the ocean, and the more daring wolves jump from the cliffs to swim in the ocean. The caverns burrow straight into the cliff wall, branching off in various directions. The walls are coarse, indicating that they are fairly recently formed.

Caurus

Caurus is the northern-most piece of Anikira. It is ruled by a mild climate, and is primarily a grassy plain and meadow. The winters can be rather chilly at times, but it is rarely sparse of prey. Caurus is home to what is often considered the Mother Tree of the continent. Rumor is that this was the birth place of Anikira.

Nytyte River

Carving a path through the hills, Nytyte River divides Caurus from Tiayr. The river is no more than a half mile wide, but the currents are dangerous and make crossing difficult. Paths of rocks and beaver dams provide a safe passage in a few areas, but otherwise it keeps intruders from accessing the terra.

Desmir's Tree

The largest living thing on Anikira, Desmir’s Tree has often been referred to as the Mother Tree. Though its origins are unknown, tales tell that the oak has been alive on the continent for nearly a thousand years. The tree boasts a diameter nearly a half mile wide, and the large, tangling roots snake across The Shydar for many miles, hidden in the flowers.

The Shydar

A vast meadow coats the center of the northern territory. During the winter, the fields are desolate and bland, but with the arrival of spring, the foliage blooms. A blanket of red flowers has coated the ground every spring in remembrance of the wolves that lost their lives here. Trees dot the horizon, and small brooks and pools litter the ground.

Niall Caverns

Carved throughout the valleys of the Nyjoro Hills are a variety of small caverns. These earthen structures, though prone to collapsing, frequently provide shelter in time of need. Travelers often seek their comfort during poor weather, whether they be loners or pack members returning home. Just beware of ornery inhabitants.

East Territories

Kamari

Kamari, once known for its polluted waters and chemical-ridden grounds, has healed nicely over the years. A broad expanse covers most of the territory. It is nestled in the center of the continent, surrounded completely by land. It is a very mild tempered territory, often referred to as the heartland of Anikira.

Chamoru Plains

Central to the continent lies Chamoru Plains, a vast, endless grassland open to all. Safe from Pievunt-An and sheltered by the Kinath, these grasslands are pure and fresh. Wildflowers bloom during the warm months. This area is home to large prey such as bison, elk, and deer. Occasional savannah-style trees dot the land.

Xin Grotto

Whether a remnant of the humans who once tried to conquer the land or some beautiful manifestation of nature, Xin Grotto, named for the alpha who once ruled the mountains the cave butts up against, is a picture-perfect densite for those wolves who reside in Kamari. The Grotto's system is actually made up of two caves, each branching off in different directions and open up to the mountain peaks, offering not only a stunning view, but also a considerable about of light.

As the scientists abandoned the island, they left behind a post. The stone buildings were knocked to pieces as an attempt to hide their appearance on the island. A few stone buildings are left. Many of the wooden buildings were burned by uncontrollable wildfires. The ash and debris that once filled the air has finally cleared, revealing a useful home for the wildlife.

On-aldirr Crevice

The human's tests of weapons blasted away at the earth, chipping out an ancient, buried crevice. A few years has rounded out the sharp edges of the blast by erosion, and the underground tunnels have been carved out by the run-off over hundreds of years. Deep in the caverns, a trickling of water can be heard from the underground stream that runs deep below Kamari, still tainted by the chemicals soaked into the earth.

Vesyth - 1 Viewing

Vesyth is notably some of the middle ground that was once within the claims of Kamari and Acerbus. With the shifted borders, some of the western forests as well as the hot springs and plains are now their own sub-division of the continent, offering a home to new packs or loners alike.

Enackir Hot Springs

The clear, toasty waters of Enackir Hot Springs appeal to wolves of all kinds. The crystal blue liquid is calming and serene. Nature has finally filtered the human's contaminates from the water, creating a lovely utopia for all varieties of animals. Although the water is too hot to drink, it is a wonderful place to bathe and play on a cool day.

A vast open prairie, where one end of the sky meets the other without interruption; a lull of hills and valleys covered in tall dry grass and spiny shrubbery. Prairie dogs and a growing herd of Pronghorn call Kamari home and make for a decent meal.

Grove of Sari

The Grove of Sari is the crown jewel of Vesyth. Hiding the hot springs with its cascading boughs, this lilac forest offers privacy and tranquility to all who enter it. The grove has been genetically engineered by conservationists to bloom for nearly thirty weeks out of the year, only losing it's fragrant blossoms in late November, when the willow-esque branches shed their flowers in favor of tiny green resting buds. Wolves should never fear, though; come the rainy season of late spring, the grove seems to gain new life, nearly doubling its number of blossoms every year.

The Eye of Fenris

Long ago, the earth gave way from the hundreds of years of erosion caused by underground water flow. The Eye of Fenris, a sinkhole that has existed for more than a hundred years, still bears the saltwater river that carved it out all those years ago. Some of the tunnels that water previously flowed are no longer submersed and create an interesting underground maze.

Ryner

The central plains and beaches of the southern gulf create yet another sanctuary where loners who which to avoid claimed territories can take up residence. There is an abundance of varied prey spanning the territory, and Ryner also provides access to the fresh waters of the river that border the desert.

Usstor

Usstor, though a little cramped, is one of the main entrances to the underground tunnel system of Anikira. This perfectly circular lava tube comes from years of water rushing against the volcanic rock underneath the surface of Ryner, rushing in all at once and then receding with the gentle waves. The cyclical texture can be hypnotizing, which can be either a blessing or a curse for those who have decided to travel underground.

Pievunt-An

The origin of Anikira, Pievunt-An, resides on the northern border of the Occasus. Smoke still rises from the peak, and volcanic ash is piled along the sides and base. The trees and plants have grown back on the northern half of the volcano. Though once considered dormant, the volcano is now classified as active due to its multiple eruptions in the recent years.

Ryren Beach

Along the northern edge of the Aughgar River lays a wide beach, its fine sand littered with seashells of every shape and size. Kingfishers and other predatory birds crowd the shoreline and the skies above, hunting for fish, amphibians, and small mammals - and harrying any terrestrial predator that brings down larger game here. The river itself is a favorite stopping point for many migratory animals; unfortunately, the water here is teeming with crocodiles, making the beach a dangerous place to linger.

Omdyn

Situated at the water's edge, Omdyn is one of the many entrances to the tunnel system that snakes beneath the surface of Anikira. The mouth of this cave is wide enough to allow multiple wolves to enter at once, and although the cave is not entirely protected from the sea spray, it sits high enough that the tunnel entrance at the back of it remains relatively dry during low tide; during high tide, only a few inches of water flow down into the tunnels, leaving the floor crusted in salt and bits of seaweed blown in by the water.

The Oriens

The Oriens is nestled on the eastern coast of Anikira. It is completely surrounded by the Kinath except for a small portion of the beach and where the mountains meet the cliffs. The temperature is generally mild in the forest, but the mountains are chilly year-round with snow-coated peaks.

The Kinath

The mountains of The Kinath tower above the rest of Southern Anikira. Dangerous, slick paths lead up to the snow-capped peaks. The range divides the plains from the greenery of the Oriens. Snow remains on the tips around the caves year round. Evergreens are the only trees on the mountains, but large boulders prevent excess erosion.

The plates shifting dislodged a huge entrance to what appears to be an underground cavern. This cave dives deep beneath both Kamari and The Oriens with no access to the outside in either territory. The entrance rests on the southwestern edge of the Kinath, providing security from the remainder of the continent. Though it is a lot more barren than other regions, the cavern provides shelter to various creatures that call the cavern home.

This fast-moving open stream gushes right through the heart of Aleru. It is believed that, prior to the shifting of the plates, the entirety of the area was flooded by the Waters of Ongar. Ina'mos - 1 Viewing

A product of the first volcanic eruption of Pievunt-An, Ina'mos is a large island nestled north of Tas'alea, but still on the western side of Anikira. Animals and smaller plants coat the island. The plant life has exploded in the past years, and wildlife inhabits virtually every inch of the island. However, chunks of volcanic rock still litter the ground as a reminder of its origin.

Just behind the water lies a small cave opening that gives access to several dry tunnels and outcroppings that allow semi-private nooks for each nesting wolf, complete with the soothing ambient noise of rushing water and constant access to fresh water.

Is'bel Woods

The trees of Is'bel Woods are thick and hardy with gnarled roots bubbling beneath the surface that very often rear up, creating excellent tripping hazards to those who aren't careful. Due to the thick population of the tree boughs overhead, sunlight is spotty and appears to dance over the ground as the breeze ripples through the treetops. This also means that grasses are not as plentiful in the heart of the woods, driving out larger prey animals who tend to stay towards the outskirts. However, smaller animals such as birds, rabbits and other rodents, find the Is'bel Woods a haven.

It is not uncommon to see fossilized river fish and frogs along the rocky floor facing towards the mouth of the cave, a constant reminder of which direction one must take in order to see the sunlight again.

The massive rock formations of the Stone Forest tower over the bamboo sprigs and large trees growing around their bases, casting long, deep shadows across the ground at all hours of the day. The formations stand fairly close together, and are too steep and smooth for most creatures to climb, so the majority of the creatures living here are birds, small mammals, and reptiles. This relatively narrow passage can only fit four-wolves wide, and any amount of noise echoes from the tall walls of the Stone Forest like a built-in security system. Despite it's relatively small size, this natural formation arguably makes Nain the most secure territory on the continent if those who reside there stand guard over the pass.

Sana Sarsys

Sana Sarsys is sometimes compared to Elysium, both for its beauty and its safety. This plateau seems to almost hover over the rest of the eastern continent, and its rich grasslands mostly unadulterated by trees. The northeastern edge drops off at a sheer cliff, while the southernmost border is protected by the treacherous Stone Forest, providing an ethereal view of the territory below. Though the land itself is rather small, it is rich with small prey including jackrabbits, prairie chickens, and badgers.

I'queyer

I'queyer is largely dominated by the Endyt Cape that stretches for many miles of the coastline. It remains cool or warm year-round, unlike most of Anikira. The beach stretches across a quarter of the entire continent's coast. It is abundant in large prey and open for loners to roam at ease.

Itai

A wide open expansive prairie makes for a beautiful picture as one makes their way from the Itai tunnels. From cool and dark caverns to bright and colorful foliage, this place is certainly a diverse area. A sprinkling of flowers dot the Prairie grasses to delight both prey and predator until it gradually becomes swallowed up by jagged walls that led into an underground network which bats and a variety of insects call home. Some would call this place more ominous while other surely choose to see it as cheerful. The secrets of this place may prove to be both.

Somani Island

The lava has cooled, and the waves against the molten earth carved a new isle off Anikira's coast. Somani Island, a slowly evolving utopia, is small but has great potential. Saplings and grass are beginning to grow, while other places still wait for their hidden potential to be exposed. The tiny island may act as a sanctuary from the perils of the mainland.

Endyt Cape

The beach along the Endyt Cape is highly unusual. Over many years, shards of broken glass in every color have washed ashore here, worn smooth by the ocean currents that carried them. The cape is largely open to the elements, leaving the glass bare to the sun at all hours and creating a dazzling effect for visitors. The yellow and amber shards of glass, in particular, seem almost hypnotic in quality, and more than a few who have visited this place liken those pieces to eyes. Few seabirds seem to flock here, likely due to the equally sparse aquatic life able to survive along the shoreline.

Kaer Beach

The western portion of the I'queyer Peninsula is home to Kaer Beach. Bathed in the warm waters of Somani Bay, this is perhaps the most luxurious beach on the continent. The highlands run freshwater into the sea, and the brackish environment is perfect for unique species of fish. It is picture perfect in it's views of the ocean, and if one looks hard enough, they can almost make out the canyons of Xisyn across the water.

Arit

The ground has slowly torn away south of the desert, and in between the Occasus and Xisyn, a new region has emerged. From the gentle sands of the beaches and bay to the soft shade of the northern Oasis, Arit is a little piece of paradise in what used to be nearly uninhabitable terrain.

Bay of Melyanna

While it is small, the Bay of Melyanna offers an place of peace and tranquility after passing through the Karst. The breeze offers reprieve from the punitive desert heat, and the fishers among wolves are offered yet another prime spot. The waters here are warm, and though the salinity means it is unsafe to drink, the stepped rocks act as a kind of amphitheater, making this a perfect gathering place for packs or those who love the arts.

Olum Karst

It is often said that in the Olum Karst, there is not enough water to drown a wolf, nor trees to hang him, nor earth to bury him—it is no exaggeration. The region is a natural rock field, and the surface of the land is dominated by limestone, gypsum, and hardy grasses. It is as unforgiving as it is unique; while grazing ungulates live here, it is easy to misstep and sour a hunt with a twisted paw.

Andor Oasis

Despite the harshness of Olum Karst, Arit stays true to its moniker of little paradise in the Andor Oasis. Meaning "gifted land," this region comes alive with beautiful shallow waters and foliage of all kinds. Desert creatures flock here for nourishment, so the Oasis is a prime hunting ground. The water here is so clear that even the most inexperienced wolf could catch a fish, and the unique algae that grows makes an excellent poultice for burns and labor pains.

The South Rim

The South Rim of the Xisyn sinkhole, while much less lush than its northern counterpart, provides a familial dwelling for any pack who resides here. Local tunnel systems are carved into the rock from rivers of old, making the den more like a neural network than individual pockets. Snakes and lizards thrive here in the scrubby desert environment, though pups and adults alike must exercise caution: rain does not fall often here, so small rockslides are common if one does not know the path to take from rim to cave.

Adar - 1 Viewing

The continent has had much time to heal, and from the heat of what once used to be the desert, some signs of life have emerged. Though still significantly warmer than other regions, Adar has the occasional scattered foliage as well as a beautiful mosaic of sand bars, allowing wolves to wander miles into the gulf without fear.

The North Rim - 1 Viewing

The lush North Rim of the Xisyn sinkhole is more of a lush canyon, sporting hundreds of trees and caves to dwell in. The sides have been worn away from years of rain, making beautiful patterns over the rocky cliff face. Though the terrain can be treacherous to navigate, vines and foliage provide lots of privacy for the multitude of densites that can be found here, complete with a truly epic view of the canyon below.

Dalv Glad

In the midst of the fledgling oasis that is Adar lies Dalv Glad, an amalgamation of woody patches of palm and strangler fig. These provide not only shelter from the sun, but also produces much needed sustenance for the herbivores of the area, making this a popular gathering spot for prey. For wolves, these nourishing patches are often used as a kind of hospital, as several species of medicinal herbs and mosses grow along the thick vines.

Eel's Tail River

Eel's Tail River is something of a contradiction; though it bears the shape of a river, it is actually more of a lake, its water trapped in by the sand bars to the north. Over time, the salt has mostly evaporated from the water, leaving this water the purest in the region. The animals within, though native to the sea, have adapted to live within the fresh depths here, and the Tail nourishes the forest that surrounds it.

Lod'nen Path

Lod'nen Path is actually not singular, but plural: these sand bars stretch out into the Somani Gulf, stretching the border of the territory far into the sea. During high tide, a wolf would be chest-deep in water, but low tide is when the Lod'nen Path truly shines. The bars create hundreds of small pools across their surfaces, capturing fish, oysters, and crabs for any who are patient enough to seek them out—and if a wolf is lucky enough, some say that the saltwater pearls found here bring a year's worth of good fortune.

Xisyn

Xisyn is located on the southern tip of the continent. This valley, created from a sinkhole in the south portion of the Sands of Rodorr, is now teeming with life. Loose rocks are everywhere. A small creek runs through the lower portion of the valley, and desert caverns are scattered through the walls.

Belashi Butte

Belashi Butte is one of the most beautiful landforms in the southern territories. The red rock rises mysteriously from the depths of the canyon. It, amazingly, stayed in tact with the collapse of the sinkhole. The top of the butte is littered with large, circular rock formations, seemingly floating with little support. It is a difficult but rewarding climb to the top.

Boulders of Tohyz

With the collapse of the sinkhole came many loose rocks. Most of the larger stones fell in a central area, now referred to as the Boulders of Tohyz. These large boulders are lodged tightly together, preventing them from shifting further. The area they cover is mostly barren because the soil is sandy and covered from sunlight. Many small critters hide in the stones.

Although it is buried in a desert sinkhole, Turxos Creek provides most of the water that sustains life in Xisyn. Tas'alea

Vor'asa

Perhaps the most unforgiving region on Anikira, Vor'asa is the dryest region of Tas'alea. The dunes that cover it tower like mountains over the sand, and herds of camel roam freely. It is the home of the only sign of humankind that the wolves of the island ever encountered, and also a large saltwater cove that douses the Northern portion of the island with ocean water.

Adeli's Cove

On the northern horn of the island, Adeli's Cove has been carved out from the earth after years and years of tides washing across the dirt. There is very little beach in the cove, apart from the innermost waterfront where the beach is a mere fifteen yards in width. It is here that the SS Rilon washed ashore. The sea water spray sometimes reaches as much as one hundred yards inland upon contact with the cove walls.

SS Rilon

While humans never set foot on Tas'alea, the trade routes just to the west of the island frequently brought ships within two miles of the shore. A nasty hurricane swept one such trade ship aboard. The SS Rilon, a large cargo ship, was beached in Adeli's Cove, where the ship has remained wedged into the sand fo more than a dozen years. The wood has deteriorated some with the times, but it provides adequate shelter and plenty of space to the wolves who inhabit Vor'asa.

The Waste

The Waste of Vor'asa is aptly named. The desert is unforgiving and punitive, with enormous sandy dunes that would rival any ocean hurricane. The only predators who dare to live here are ancient birds of prey, beasts so hardy that they have adapted to the punishing landscape and thrive under it's oppressive heat and terrain, hunting the dromedary herds. Wolves have long used this territory as the pinnacle of survivalists and a training ground for those destined to persevere.

South of the dunes of Vor'asa, Ser'eri is the westernmost region on Tas'alea. It is largely dominated by a sandstone scrubland, with hardy plants poking up under the shade of nearly every rock, but is also lush in various oases that provide the lifeblood to the territory. It is the coolest of the regions here, as the ocean seems to constantly push a breeze over the earth.

Layrun Trench

Layrun Trench fits its name aptly; meaning "secret water," this wadi fills up with water runoff from the rainy mountains during the winter months, carving the path longer and deeper each year, but remains relatively dry during the summer. This makes it a kind of seasonal oasis for those inhabiting Ser'eri, with all walks of predator and prey coming to be near it. The water is clear and bright, though wolves must be careful of accidentally falling when there is no liquid below to break their falls.

The Angitu Desert is a more forgiving environment than the Ale'ina, featuring a greater abundance of low, scrubby plant life and crawling with large desert mammals, birds, and reptiles. Though it lacks the rocky outcroppings and steep crags of Ale'ina, the Angitu is dotted with sloping, wind-worn hills of sandstone and loose soil, many of which sport small nooks and crannies to shelter in during the hottest parts of the day. Stretching high above the desert terrain, Orvor Rock is a landmark to the wolves who wander western Tas'alea. The western end of the Delia Basin drains out into the scrubby desert of Ser'eri through a series of little streams and creeks that fill with water from the basin during periods of heavy rain. In the dry season, the waters of the Basin dry up, leaving the waterways it feeds barren until the rains return and cause the Delia to swell once more beyond its western banks. The Basin represents the desert's primary year-round sources of fresh water, and is teeming with plant and animal life of all shapes and sizes.

Ale'ina

The rocky terrain of Ale'ina offers little relief from the heat of the region, but in turn, this is perhaps the most unique territory on Tas'alea. The huge prismatic spring here dominates a huge piece of the region, butting up against rocky mountain formations. The Chimera's Iris

The Chimera's Iris is one of nature's greatest gifts to Tas'alea. In the winter, the mat will tend to reflect more greens, while in the summer, it tends to appear red. The inner part of the spring is boiling hot, and the water is not safe to drink—however, the edges provide a very soothing bath, and wolves use its penetrating heat to sooth all kinds of internal pain.

Due to the geothermal activity of the surrounding territory and the water at its entryway, this cave spouts steam at all hours of the night and day, earning it the name Dragon's Mouth. There is enough room inside for multiple wolves to gather, though the steam and temperature inside make it an uncomfortable place to take shelter during the warmer months of the year.

The southeastern beaches of the Delia Basin drain out into the geyser fields of R'imdar. Menubo

One of the three small islets in the network of Mogiya, Menubo is the closest to the mainland and also the most diverse biome. The ground is littered with sandy earth, but a small, babbling brook meanders along the central land mass, nestled away in a quiet grove of willow trees. The southern part of the island is a quiet, grassy plain, offering food to the herbivores that call Menubo home.

Essina

The central isle in the northern network, Essina is a small but rich area. The ground is mostly flat, but the region is also home to a massive infestation of meerkats. Their tunnels span from one end of the island to the other, and they provide an easy food source for predators. Though the land is mostly devoid of trees, it is home to several shrubberies and a multitude of blackberry and raspberry bushes.

Drathon

Drathon is the northernmost point of the Southern Isles, and it is rumored that on a clear day, the wolves can see Anikira as a speck on the horizon. It is too far away to reach, but it is a reminder that they are not far from home. The island is covered in a grassy prairie, but the true sight to be seen is the massive coral reefs surrounding the island. The water is always warm, heated by an underwater volcano just off the shore.
