Summer has finally arrived! The sun has melted the snows in the north and the southern territories are beginning to grow uncomfortably hot and dry. Pups are being born and life seems to finally be getting back to normal after the cure for the disease was found. But how long will it last?
The cure has been found! Wolves on Anikira are recovering from the disease and life is moving forward with the promise of pups in many packs. And yet darkness looms on the horizon, daring the creatures of Anikira to relax and allow themselves to get comfortable once more.
Breeding season had finally fallen upon Anikira, a time the Mackenzie Valley brute had really been looking forward to. Last season, the ebony and ivory male had waited till the last minute to participate. Perhaps participating wasn’t the right word to use because when the time had come for him, Baasir had been really reluctant with following through with it. It wasn’t until hearing the female’s encouraging words that got him to finally get the job done. He was really embarrassed for how it all went down but Isolde was patient with him like she always had been. Khalsa had a less conventional way females to where they were open game to any of the males in the pack as long as they weren’t one of the Rani’s or officially claimed by Kharak’s trusted. This concept took a long time for the male to come to terms with it and it was really only because of the interesting encounter that Baasir had with Beowulf and Isolde back in the summer. If he wouldn’t have had that, the ebony and ivory canine would be exactly where he was last year.
After his transformation, Baasir had remained focused on Isolde because of how she always seemed to be the one that was there. He would be more than smitten to just stick with her but when it came to it, his growing appetite for what he had withheld himself from for so long was causing him to start to explore other options. The Paala didn’t go too far from his favorite Ganika though for he ended up coupling with her daughter. Tristan looked like her mother so part of the brute couldn’t help but to think of Isolde while he was banging her daughter. It was something he would never admit to though since he felt guilty about it because the young female was an absolute pleasure. He could easily see himself having fun with her again in the future but for the time being it would be best for him to try someone new if it was possible. There were many other females in Khalsa that could be taken but he had only knew two of them. Maybe there was someone else out there that could rock his world more than the other two females could.
Today, Baasir had woken up especially horny so it was a good day to go test his luck at his favorite place in The Occasus. The Paala began to trot off towards the Aughar River, hoping that one of the females might be there. It was the place he had always seemed to be running into them so he had high hopes that he would get lucky. The sound of the rushing water started to get closer as orange eyes could see the body of water in the distance. So far no one seemed to be there but there was plenty of time to wait. Plus he had yet to eat since the other day so he could try his luck at catching a fish to eat for to help pass the time by. Once his paws hit the riverside, Baasir sat down on his haunches and stared into the water, looking to see which fish would be his victim.
Life had been both interesting and boring as of late. The temperature had dropped slightly with the winter months, but as they were so far south there was very little along the ways of actual cold. A distant part of her felt like she had experienced worse cold than she had here, though the previous winter was quite horrible. Still, as she walked slowly across the warm terrain of The Occasus, her mind traveled back in time to when she was certain she had lived further north, before her memory had failed her. She was in a forest, surrounded by snow. There were others, family perhaps, running about her and playing in the cold as if it did not bother them. But she was cold, she could feel it against her skin, and she shivered slightly as her mind brought her further and further back into the past.
Was she regaining her memory? She could not be sure, but she was starting to get bits and pieces of what felt like someone's past. The others looked like her, and yet somehow she did not know who they were. Two boys, one dark and one light. Another female, but names escaped her. She shook her head and sighed, closing her eyes and then opening them to see nothing but desert and the tan color of sand and dirt around her. She was not in the north, she was in Khalsa's lands, and she could feel the heat burning her dark coat from the sun above. But it was not just the sun causing the warmth that spread through the female. She was also in season, giving off a powerful scent to all the males of the pack that she was old enough and ready to breed. But she had no mate. That was not the way of Khalsa from what she understood.
But it did not matter. Before her season had started she had been introduced into her role of Ganika by Caos, and though he had been rough with her and it had hurt, she had come to enjoy it by the end. Or at least she thought she did. Part of her had felt wrong, broken and dirty, but she could not explain how or why. So she had pushed the feelings away, ignored the tears that had wanted to jump into her throat and went on with her life. Now she headed towards the river, hoping that a cool drink and maybe a short swim would take the edge of the emotions and discomfort that was overwhelming her. She had always been emotional and easily overwhelmed, and she did not know how to be stronger than she was. Still, she knew her place and she was at least safe within the pack's borders. What more could she ask for?
As she neared the river she spotted another wolf, this one even larger than Caos and wearing black along with the white of his coat. Immediately her posture dropped into a more submissive one, her ears flattened to the sides and her tail tucking slightly between her hind legs as she approached. A soft whine escaped her jaws as she crouched and finally stopped moving a few yards away from the male, his scent telling her that he had been in Khalsa for perhaps longer than she had. She wanted to introduce herself, to say hello and perhaps start a conversation, but she knew it was not her place to do such a thing. That was his right, and as she was certain he ranked above her, she would wait and allow him to decide what happened next.
There was a good variety of fish in the river today, some of them were big and some of them were small. They all had their own interesting patterns and behaviors and it was fun to watch to watch them swim around which is exactly what the Mackenzie Valley brute did for a bit. He wasn’t in any rush since he didn’t have any plans today so why not take the time to appreciate nature? The sound of the water rushing down the river brought about a sort of peacefulness that the Baasir couldn’t describe. Whatever it was, the monochrome canine was thoroughly enjoying it and ended up getting lost in a sort of trance. The Khalsa Paala hadn’t been this relaxed in a long time. It was helping alleviate some of the sexual tension he was experiencing since it was rather embarrassing that he was genitals were already stiff and was ready to go. The ebony and ivory canine couldn’t help it though because he was too excited to finally plant his seed within the pack and start a legacy on his own.
His peace of mind suddenly got interrupted when the scent of another canine entered the atmosphere. The first thing Baasir noticed was that whoever it was, they were in heat, All of the progress he had made with calming down started to become lost as he could feel the blood in his body rushing to his genitals. As not to appear too eager, the Mackenzie Valley brute tried to calm down and focus on the other aspects of her scent. The scent of Khalsa had set into her which meant that she was a member of it. The Paala was surprised that he had never met her before . The scent of the pack seemed pretty set into her own so she had been in the pack for a decent amount of time. The individual was also female as the intense pheromones of heat emitted from them so was it possible that she was never? Before he could think more about it, the owner of the scent finally appeared in his field of view after glancing around.
The female canine was the second most unique individual he had met, there was something about her that suggested she might be a hybrid of some sorts. Orange eyes fixated on her as she slowly approached him. The predominantly ivory and ebony female was already in a submissive stance with her ears flattened and her tail slightly tucked. Baasir could her a whine emit from her maw as finally came to a halt, leaving just a few feet between them. The Paala wanted to immediately close the distance but he knew better than that. He was a gentleman first or foremost. The Mackenzie Valley brute liked to get to know whoever it was that he was about to bone. “Hello, miss, who might you be?,” Baasir cooed as he dipped his head in greeting. He would continue to remain put until he knew she was ready. He would be patient with her, no matter how long it took just like Isolde had for him.
It did not take the male long to respond to her presence. If she had been a more observant or cautious wolf she would have perhaps noticed the small gestures and movements his body made has he picked up her scent and spotted her. The tightening of his abdomen, the twitch of his nose, perhaps even a flick of an ear. But she did not notice those things. Instead, she was simply happy that he was interested in talking to her. It was rare that she found another creature that wanted to speak with her instead of just command her to do things for them. But she supposed she owed Khalsa her life, so she had to respect their ways. They were her was now, were they not? But in the back of her mind she knew that was wrong, that she did not belong in The Occasus. Something pulled her to the borders, to the north, away from this place. But not now.
"Hello. I'm Harpy, it is a pleasure to meet you." She said, dipping her head in another respectful gesture of greeting. He seemed friendly, and at least so far his greeting had been more welcoming than the one she had gotten from Caos. From what she could remember from the encounter, anyways. Her memory had become more foggy recently, and the little female had attributed it to her heat. Surely that was the reason she could not think straight, right? But she had gotten more emotional as well, and that had to be because of her heat. She still knew little about her past, about how she had grown up or who her parents were. But something about the emotions that seemed to flood her felt familiar, felt right. But she could not focus on the sea of confusion in her mind currently, for she would be required to focus on her superior before her.
She had answered his question as politely as possible, and now she sat still, waiting for him to tell her what to do or make the choice for her. Only then would she be allowed to react, if she would be allowed to at all. Still, perhaps there was a part of her that had enjoyed being mounted by Caos, even though he had been rather rough with her. Would this male be the same way? From his demeanor he seemed almost kinder, perhaps more interested in her enjoyment as well? She supposed there was only one way to find out, and it was truly not up to her. She inhaled deeply, carefully taking in his scent so that she could perhaps memorize it once the fog left her brain. That was, if it ever did. She wanted to focus, she wanted to pay close attention to everything around her, but she was far too overwhelmed with feelings that she could not. So instead she let her amber eyes focus on his paws, doing her best to pick out every little detail about them that she could while she waited for him to speak or move.
His eyes lingered all over the small canine’s body as he listened to her response. Harpy, as she introduced herself, was different from all the other wolves he had met. Her snout was more narrow and her nose was noticeably smaller. Whereas his ears were short and rounded, her’s were tall and pointy. The she wolves frame was smaller and a lot more slender than his and her tail was very bushy. The rest of her looked relatively similar to him despite the size difference. It had been awhile since Baasir had encountered one, but Harpy reminded him awfully a lot like coyotes. The Mackenzie Valley brute knew that it was possible for the two species to produce a litter together but he had yet to hear of one before. The island of Anikira was massive so it wasn’t that surprising that such a litter had been conceived at some point. Where she came from didn’t matter to him though as he really wanted to know whether she felt and tasted different from the other couple of females he had the pleasure of enjoying but first he would have to ensure that her rank was below his before he went to find those answers.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Harpy. If you don’t mind me asking, what rank in Khalsa do you hold, I’m a Paala myself. You scent tells me that you have been here a while so why haven’t I seen you around before?” Baasir was known to be a talker but he liked to get to know his company before pursuing them. The ebony and ivory male had been polite as long as he could remember and he would always remain so, no matter what kind of transformation he might have. The Khalsa Paala was obviously eager by now, especially with the how new this would be for him. He was sure that the two of them would have a good time, and if he was lucky enough, she would conceive and he could finally find some pups of his own like he had been longing for. Everyone else around them seemed to have a family of their own already and it sometimes caused Baasir to form a void that he felt that could only be filled by furthering his bloodline, especially since he was getting up there in age.
Harpy was making it apparent that she wasn’t going to move any to close the distance, remaining in the sitting position she had put herself in. After a couple moments, Baasir decided that he would go ahead and close the distance between them, but he would do so slowly so he wouldn’t scare the female before him. Once he was close enough, the Mackenzie Valley brute began to circle her, making sure to keep some distance between them. The Paala was starting to grow impatient and the sexual tension just kept on growing. His patience was starting to grow thin, something that had never really happened to him before but Baasir couldn’t help but to go with it for now. What he was doing was harmless since he wasn’t touching her and he was getting the opportunity to get up close to her, inhaling her scent eagerly. “If I might be so bold to say, you smell absolutely delicious, would you mind if I took a taste,” he tried to say as persuasively as possible.
It did not take the male long to speak to her, and her right ear twitched lightly as the words fell upon her. "I am a Ganika." She said, hoping that she pronounced the rank properly. She had not been actively performing her 'duties' for very long, so she was still sort of getting used to what was expected of her. It seemed like the male was not phased, though, for he eventually did get up and move closer to her. She remained still and quiet, her body trembling slightly with anticipation as she waited. She did not know if the feeling was a good thing or a bad thing, but she could not help but feel a slight burn in her cheeks as he asked if he could taste her. With the question, his asking permission, she was confused at first. She had not expected that, for from what she understood the males of Khalsa just took what they wanted. She pushed herself to her feet slowly, moving her tail out of his way and giving him a small nod of approval.
--- Fade to Black ---
Eventually the pair managed to separate, and the little female nearly collapsed to the ground outright. Her legs shook from supporting them both, and her head was still spinning from exhaustion. She shifted to carefully clean herself, but once she finished she laid on her side, panting softly and closing her eyes. Perhaps sleep would come to her, perhaps it would elude her. Regardless, she was tired and needed to rest. She did not know if the male would remain nearby, but after she laid still for several minutes she shifted to crawl over towards the river. When she reached it she drank the cool water, sighing heavily in relief as it slid down her throat. Only when she was no longer thirsty did she relax and lay out on her side once more, this time truly drifting off to sleep.
Dreams came to her, even though they typically did not. She dreamed of a past, of a family, of a pack. Something had changed, and her memory was slowly beginning to return to her.
