It was starting to get closer and closer to sunset as the ivory and brown female made her way through the Savannah. This area had easily became one of the she wolf’s favorite places to travel through. There were a few species of animals that frequented them which made for an idea hunting ground for Verity. With the temperature starting to lower, her meals were becoming more and more scarce. Even some of the animals that resided here were starting to become more elusive. For the times she wasn’t hungry, the Arctic mix enjoyed coming here just to watch the animals, even though most of them spent their time grazing on the foliage that the land provided. It was during those times that these other creatures seemed to have no worries and were at peace with the world. Today, however, the she wolf was just passing through having no intentions of stopping. That was until a form in the distance caught the attention of her piercing green eyes.
The last time Verity had run into another wolf hadn’t gone well and she was lucky to have gotten away. It was the loner’s fault for trespassing on a pack’s land but she honestly had no idea and had no ill intentions. The brute that she ran into didn’t seemed pleased at all as he got right to bringing up the subject of trespassing. The male was large and it would be obvious to anyone that she didn’t have a chance. The ivory and brown she wolf didn’t feel like dying that day so she ran away as fast as she could, never turning her head back even once. Despite the encounter being intense, she learned her lesson on being more careful before crossing into a territory. Thankfully the Savannah she was in wasn’t claimed by anyone so she could roam freely but the Arctic mix was still weary. After a bit of thinking, Verity decided to go investigate whoever it was that had caught her attention.
After several long strides, Verity found herself face to face with the form that ended up being the body of another wolf. Green eyes stared in awe at the individual for they were the most beautiful canine she had ever seen. The stranger’s pelt was made up of ebony but there was a beautiful, almost tribal looking gold mark down the entire length of her spine with golden eyes to match. The loner herself had some markings of her own but they were nowhere near as fascinating as the ones on the wolf that stood before here. Once Verity was over the shock of her beauty, she began to notice something strange about the other canine. She bore no scent at all and her eyes looked almost lifeless, yet she was standing there right in the flesh. What was this thing that she was just inches away from? “What are you? I can’t pick up a scent or anything off you.” Verity would never be able to hear the voice that belonged to the beautiful female but at least the Arctic mix would be able to read their lips if they could in fact talk.
Instead of responding to the Arctic mix, the mysterious female ran off into the distance. Verity was too allured to the stranger that she couldn’t help but to follow her. Once again, the loner started to have no awareness of the land surrounding her, she was too focused on getting a response from the other canine. The Savannah the ivory and brown wolf had been running through suddenly turned into a desert. The area seemed almost familiar to Verity but her mind mind was too preoccupied to care, making her oblivious to any possible dangers that lie ahead. In time, the beautiful wolf came to a halting stop which the loner did in turn. All she could do now was wait for the stranger’s next moves. They were open targets now but that didn’t seem to matter to the ivory and brown wolf. Learning more about this mysterious female that had graced Verity with her presence. The stranger soon broke their silence as the loner watched their mouth open to speak. “Do you believe in ghosts, Verity?” The question sent chills down the Arctic mix’s spine as her whole body began to clam up.
