Curiosity was the main thing that drove beings to seek knowledge… the want to learn, the want to have power through that knowledge… the only thing that drove Stolas perhaps a bit more than mere curiosity was the want to have control over others. Stolas spent most of his time silently watching the other wolves, sometimes while softly conversing with the silvery ones that would appear and disappear on a whim… he had intended to ask his mother about these wolves for she seemed to converse with one in particular, but it was not at the top of the list of things he wanted to learn about so it was usually not at the forefront of his mind when he did see the ivory colored female. She had become so busy with the everyday duties of running the pack in the absence of his father that the young male preferred to spend as much time simply enjoying her presence when she was not running about doing one thing or another for the rest of the pack, for the souls that were not worthy of having his mother’s care. It was not something the young brute would readily admit, but he did love his family rather deeply and believed they were deserving of much more than what they got within the confines of Elysium.
The young brute had started to explore a little further out from Aleru, particularly with the recent claim over Kamari, if only just to discover the nooks and crannies of all their lands so he would know it best and be able to use it to his advantage. Today he found himself wondering toward what had appeared to be a big hole in the ground. The young wolf was curious about what it was and how it came to be… as well as how he could possibly use knowledge of it to his advantage in the future. Stolas had recently become intrigued by the different ways that one’s body could be manipulated… some movements would result in a quick death while others would draw it out and torture whatever being he chose to use those mathods on. The young male had yet to have anyone anger him enough to want to cause them such pain… but it did not keep the thoughts from invading his mind. Stolas let a ghost of a smile grace his features as he came to the entrance to the crevice, it was certainly promising to see how it seemed to form the perfect way trap enemies, or simply wolves he didn’t like. The idea of leading unsuspecting victims here under the guise of exploring almost made the dark-pelted wolf chuckle. He wanted to put his ideas to the test, create a plan with the silvery wolves that he always confided in… but he had no one he truly desired to test it out on. He was not particularly mad at anyone he knew, he loved his family and what few pack members he’s met rather dearly, though he would never admit it nor readily show it… perhaps an unsuspecting victim would arrive soon, some stranger that he felt no care in the world for… the first one he met to fit that would be his test dummy.
Stolas padded to the edge of the crevice, curious eyes taking in the way the earth was unnaturally formed, how the earth had formed walls that he was sure some outside force had created. Perhaps it was those same beings that had constructed the structures that he had met Banshee in? Surely something so powerful to create that would be able to carve out this crevice in the ground. He walked down the slight slope, picking his way over the loose dirt and rocks carefully, to get a feel for how hard or easy it would be for one to lose their footing. The bottom where the ground leveled out was rough, almost felt like solid rock in fact. Stolas turned his ice blue gaze upward toward the tops of the walls on either side of him, noting how high they went… yes, any unfortunate creature to unexpectedly fall from those would suffer some terrible injury or another… perhaps not death, but certainly a severe injury to one’s leg or head depending on how they landed. A small smirk came to his dark colored lips as his attention turned to the path directly ahead of him, where the crevice became tunnel and the young wolf was almost convinced that he could hear the faintest sound of trickling water, as if there were an underground stream of some sort. Stolas cocked his head at the idea, pondering what kind of quality water were to be had so far underneath the surface of the earth. He snorted gently and turned to walk back up the sloped entrance to the crevice, eyes and ears alert in case anyone had followed him… it would not be ideal that his new experimental area be used against him first after all.
