Summer has finally arrived! The sun has melted the snows in the north and the southern territories are beginning to grow uncomfortably hot and dry. Pups are being born and life seems to finally be getting back to normal after the cure for the disease was found. But how long will it last?
The cure has been found! Wolves on Anikira are recovering from the disease and life is moving forward with the promise of pups in many packs. And yet darkness looms on the horizon, daring the creatures of Anikira to relax and allow themselves to get comfortable once more.
Denali was a grouchy mess this morning. After his experience with the other fae, he was in a foul mood. He was determined to be alone. The desire for isolation lead him walking where the soil grew dry. The odds of him running into another wolf in such a desolate area had to be minimal here, or so he had thought.
His walk brought him closer to the Eye of Fenris, a sinkhole that had been around for decades, maybe even centuries. The walls of the sinkhole were steep, ensuring a rough fall if a wolf shall misplace their steps. It gave Denali something to focus on as he began his decent. If nothing else, he thought that by traveling deeper into the sinkhole that he would be sheltered from the wind. Summer had been great and bountiful, but it was that time of year when the nights proved to be unpredictable. One night could leave you sweating, wishing for an outdoor's slumber, and the very next night could leave a wolf chilled to the bone. It were the latter nights that left Denali yearning for pack life, or anyone really. If he had company of some sort then they could at least share their body heat on those cold nights. As well as enjoy all the other perks.
Lost in the thought of a better life with a mate by his side, Denali lost his footing. With a yelp he was sent sliding down the sinkhole's walls, stones ripping into the pads of his paws as he fought to regain stability. But it was to no avail. His body weight betrayed him, and he was sent into a full-blown tumble descent. His yells echoed around the sinkhole's tunnels, left long ago by the saltwater river that used to run its course through here. With a loud thud he reached the bottom, his body rolling to a stop. The male just laid there, groaning as pain ricocheted through his bones. Great, just great."Way to go genius." He grumbled to no one in particular. He had no serious injuries, but there would be bruises to match the cuts from scattered rocks on his fall.

The warm weather that had blessed them for so long was starting to fade away. The leaves that were attached to the branches of the trees that resided in Miera were starting to turn from a lively green color to yellow, brown, red, and orange. All of the different colored leaves together made for a beautiful sight and beauty was something that Loki could appreciate. The cooler weather on the other hand, the Mackenzie Valley mix could care less for. Not only did it cause the brute to be cold, but it started to make some of their prey retreat, trying to hide from the cold themselves. The male couldn’t really blame them since he too had been trying to shield himself from the cold but he was still annoyed that the prey was starting to become hard to come by. Thankfully he had recently snagged a small deer which would last him for a couple days, bidding him some time before he had to go out again.
Loki had planned to stay sheltered from the decreasing temperature until a sound out in the distance rang through his ears. It didn’t seem to be too terribly far away and it peaked his curiosity enough to cause him to leave the comfort of the warmth from his shelter. The source of the sound ended up leading the Mackenzie Valley mix to a large crater that seemed to have been there for a very, very long time. Once the Aesir Leita made it to the edge of the hole, his green eyes glanced down and met the figure of another male. The groans that were escaping the other brute’s mouth made it seem like he had fallen down. Given the size of the crater, the possibility of falling down were slim unless you ran into it blindly or were just a complete idiot. The other male seemed to be the latter causing Loki to chuckle for the sight amused him. “How did you end up there?” The Aesir male paused briefly, allowing a grin to form on his face. “Only an idiot would fall down.”

Another groan came forth from Denali’s throat as he pushed back to his feet. He stretched his neck back and forth, allowing a few satisfying cracks before he relaxed his muscles. He had just begun to investigate the pain radiating from his side when a voice called out from above. Squinting his eyes, Denali peered up at the source. A male looked back at him, brown and black in the pelt and bright in the eyes. That was about all Denali could see at the moment. Within a moment of the male’s retort, Denali shot back “It’s not like I fell on purpose. The ground is looser than you think.” He went back to his inspection, eyeballing the scrapes that now flanked him. While they currently stung like a bitch and needed a good cleaning, none were deep. He was lucky. A fall like that could really fuck up a wolf.
He licked at one of the worse off wounds for a pair of moments before looking back to where the male had appeared before. He was still around. “What? Do you just enjoy staring at random wolves like a freak or something? Last time I checked I’m not trespassing on any pack lands, so why don’t you beat it.” His words were harsh, for he was irritated. Not only at the unknown male’s remark, but at the fact that Denali had fallen at all. And while thinking of a mate of all things. Fucking females. Always getting him into trouble, even when they weren’t fucking around.
Denali’s flank shivered, despite the hard glare he was sending the other wolf’s way. Unfortunately, his trip to the bottom of the pit was not very fruitful. The wind still blew, chilling his broken skin. It wasn’t as bad as it had been topside, but it meant he would have to find somewhere else for shelter.

The Leita amusingly watched as the other male was quick to shoot a response to his insult. It was evident that the male was easily triggered which made the ebony and brown brute chuckle. It was common for Loki to start a conversation with an insult if he was able to. The Arctic mix loved causing mischief anywhere that he could, but he did have a limit to how much he caused since the male wanted to keep off the radar. His job was to be a spy for the pack so drawing attention would be counter intuitive It would be in his best interest to stay on good terms with Aesir since it was his home and it would continue to be until the pack was no longer of use to him. So Loki needed to be sure not to cross the line with the stranger though he would still poke some fun at the other male.
“That might be, but did you make sure to check the ground before you stepped on it?” In all honesty, Loki could have easily made the same mistake if he got too lost in his thoughts so he could have easily been the one down there. “Watching dumb wolves like you is one of my hobbies.” Even he had his imperfections, though there were very few of them in his mind. The Arctic mix thought he was above most that walked these lands. In reality that wasn’t the case at all but it was something Loki could ever expect. He’s had the same complex ever since he was a young pup and it was never going to change. The brute had been destined for greatness from the get go so anything less was unacceptable. Loki would make his way to greatness and he wasn’t going to let anything get in his way.
“I never said that you were intruding, I just wanted to have a chat with you. What’s so wrong about that?”

Jaidah is one of the albinos on the site, a brand new character brought to life by a brand new player. It is interesting to see how such a pure looking being could be wrapped up in the angsty claws that is Irkalla! We will definitely be staying in-tune with this character to see just what heights Bird is able to take her!
