[attr="class","text"]"Speech" It had been months since Vali had left Aesir, and the heartbreak of leaving his family had not yet caught up with the excitement of independence. Since leaving, the world had expanded before him, and each day held a new experience. Sometimes they were small experiences, just a slight change in scenery, a new river, perhaps, or a bird he had never seen before, and sometimes they were larger. Vali had come across a few loners who’d stopped long enough to speak with him, but none that had particularly caught his interest. Perhaps he’d been spoilt living in Aesir for years, a pack filled with odd characters and hundreds of stories to tell. But Vali wanted to live stories, not just listen to them.
At first, he had felt aimless and unsure, driven forward only by the desire to be in motion. Slowly, though, it had begun to fall into place. There was a rhythm to it, if not a direction. Siggy’s companionship saved him from going out of his mind with boredom. She had truly been a gift from the gods.
Vali smiled at the bird as she flew alongside him, his own paws hitting the ground like cracks of thunder. The odd pair were racing along the lakeside in their newest abode. The lake touched three lands, though it was unclear who the lake belonged to. There were packs in Acerbus and Caurus that Vali avoided, and having alerted them to his presence, he hoped they would leave him alone as he passed through. It was never certain, though, so Vali was always on his guard, and Siggy’s ability to conduct aerial reconnaissance put him at ease.
Now, though, neither of them were paying much attention to their surroundings. Siggy always won their races, unless she felt like letting him win, so they were both caught by surprise when a new pack scent hit their noses almost simultaneously. Vali slowed to a stop, suddenly on red alert, while Siggy swooped upwards. Thus far, they’d thought Syhrda to be unclaimed and therefore a place of refuge. Now things were not so clear. Now they were enclosed on all sides. In retrospect, he should have found out more about the other packs. He’d been foolish to assume they would all be friendly.
Siggy returned, landing on his shoulder, and Vali grimaced at her weight and the talons that sunk themselves into his flesh. Vali would not bear this pain for anyone else. “Well?” he queried, and in response she clacked her beak once. Yes. Pack members nearby, then. Vali paused, and then made a decision, lifting his maw to the air and howling for the leader. Siggy jumped at the sudden noise and then peered down at him curiously, but Vali chuckled at her bemusement. “We may as well meet the locals, Sig. They could be cannibals for all I know, and I’d rather know one way or the other.”
[attr="class","post"]From time to time, Vorilye had to roam away from his cousin and son, often to ensure the security of their territory. It was just the three of them so far, and Vorilye could not find it in his heart to be upset about that. The male had grown used to the menial tasks of patrolling an protecting in the later months in Vasilios; taking on what might have been considered "lowly" jobs was not beneath him. It took time and dedication to create the home that he wanted, and he was willing to put that time in this time around. He would be heavily involved in everything. It was in his wanderings that he happened across another dark-coated brute. His red and golden eyes piqued with interest, watching the male silently as he conversed with a bird. It had always perplexed him how many wolves seemed to coexist with other species; Kaiah and her meerkat, Dione and her... death cat. He shuddered at the thought. The male had never cared for Pollux's involvement in their children's lives, but for some crazy reason, the femme trusted him with the pups. Thankfully they had made it to close to adulthood with few to no incidents, but that did not ease the male's heart all those months ago.
As the brute mentioned the possibilities of cannibals, Vorilye could not hide his laugh. It was revealing in many ways, exposing the brute's presence to the point that he would no longer linger in the brute watching their movements, but it also spoke to the brute's personality before him. He clearly was less concerned about causing mischief and rather interested in avoiding it, and Vorilye had no issues with a wolf like that.
"I will say the locals have a bit of a dry sense of humor, but for the most part we're pretty gentle. Can't say I have ever eaten my own species, nor do I have the desire to," he called out in a weird form of greeting. The brute's smile was evident that he was simply joking with the male as he approached. "I'm Vorilye, warden over these lands. Who do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

[attr="class","text"]"Speech" The words had barely left Vali’s mouth before a presence made itself known. That was quick, he thought wearily, casting a glance at his bird. Had they been spied on? Vali hoped not, though the brute looked friendly enough as he moved calmly toward them. Vali drank in the brute curiously, all dark fur and enchanting amber eyes. A scarf of red encircled his neck, and he was tall, too. Taller than Vali, which wasn’t all too common. Vali would have said they could’ve been brothers, if it weren’t for the itch of desire within him that wasn’t particularly appropriate for brothers. A sharp peck at his skull from Siggy drew him from his thoughts, and he peered at his companion. She watched him knowingly.
Vali returned his attention to the stranger, who addressed him jovially, and a smile stretched across Vali’s handsome face. The joke drew laughter from his throat, which was not a particularly hard task these days. Since leaving Aesir, Vali found himself laughing much more easily. The personality that had been repressed in his natal pack was beginning to unfurl, and he loved every moment of feeling joyous and alive. “Well, what a shame,” he returned, “I was so hoping to meet my first cannibal.” The sparkle in his eyes let the other know he was joking, as if it weren’t obvious from the big smile on his face. Vali liked this brute already. He was far more interesting than anyone he’d met on his travels, and he only got more interesting when he introduced himself.
“Warden, hm? That’s quite the responsibility.” At Vorilye’s question, he responded with, “Vali,” and then gestured to the bird on his shoulder. “And this is Siggy, though the pleasure is all ours.” At the mention of her name, Siggy ruffled her feathers and released Vali from her grasp, flapping lazily down to the ground. She had grown so big in the time he’d known her that it was always shocking to remember her as she was when they’d first met. “We’re wanderers. I didn’t know these lands had been claimed – I thought it would be best if I, well, if I introduced myself to save any… awkward run-ins with the locals,” he explained, sharp canines glinting in the sun. “I don’t know much about the other two packs around here either,” he admitted, glancing briefly across the vast expanse of water the stretched out beside them. Upon returning his gaze to Vorilye, he added, “Perhaps you could enlighten me?”
Siggy had begun to hop toward the lake, and Vali watched her from the corner of his eyes. He loved when she hopped around, it was such a charming trait in birds. His own charm was less appreciated by Siggy, however, who always rolled her beady eyes whenever she noticed Vali’s interest in someone. Perhaps it was jealousy, or perhaps she thought he was embarrassing. It was probably the latter, and while he valued her opinion in serious matters, he also knew that she was teasing him in the only way she knew how. Vali often wished that they could communicate verbally, but there was also something beautiful in their ability to understand one another so wholly, and so wholly without words.

Xerxes is known to Kairos as the Centurion. Accompanied by his hulking size and ragged looks, Xerxes is not a wolf to be trifled with. His love for Kairos and it's members is as strong as he, maybe even stronger. There is no denying the males loyalty to Kairos and Hyperion, having once been the young Emperor's mentor. Recently he captured a new female and became a father once more, Xerxes is determined to do right by his offspring and raise them in the name of Kairos. Xerxes is a wonder to see on the forum, his posts always managing to grip the reader and Grimm, the player, writes him in a way that makes him as compelling as he is. Grimm adopted Xerxes and brought a whole new spin to him, whilst staying true to his core.
