She had been running for what felt like hours, to the point where her paw pads had begun to split and bleed from the overly strenuous workout that she was putting them through. And yet Dyani did not dare to stop, did not dare to look behind her for fear that a vengeful member of her birth pack could be following behind. The evil bastard that dared to call himself his father likely would have eaten any evidence that could have remained behind to indicate that he had been poisoned- and she'd made damn well sure that she had been the only one around the area in which he kept his den at the critical moment- but there was always the chance that some more intelligent member of the pack would bother to look further into the death of what had otherwise been a relatively healthy male wolf, and she could not risk such a thing happening before she had put sufficient distance between her old home and herself. So she fled, and paid no mind to how far she had traveled or how much time had elapsed, even though the sun had risen hours ago and was now beating a savage trail down her back as she ventured farther and farther south.
Dyani could not find it within herself to feel regret over what she had done, however. Her father had used her and abused her and driven every last ounce of goodness or innocence out of her, and in the end he had only gotten what he rightfully deserved. Like a dog that had been kicked one too many times only to promptly turn on its master at the first opportunity, the young female had finally been broken down so readily that she'd been pushed over the edge, going from numbly dealing with her abuse to finally standing up and putting an end to it once and for all. She hoped the old bastard didn't even get a proper funeral, that the rest of the pack agreed that he was better off dead and treated him accordingly. Let the crows and the carrion beetles have him, for all Dyani cared. She was finally free from his twisted sense of affection and his cruel whisperings, and she fully intended to make full use of such freedom.
So it was that she found herself crossing through Khalsa's borders that day with barely a care in the world as to whether she was trespassing or not, for the young female had stopped giving a shit about whose territory she was passing through a few scarce hours ago. There was no hesitation on her part as she wound her way through the sands and the dunes, not even when the odd venomous snake happened to cross her path- in fact, she had even been so bold as to catch a jackrabbit that she had found hopping through the rocks earlier, the fact that she had been met with no resistance as of yet making her bold enough to try such a thing. Carrying the still warm and bleeding body within her jaws, Dyani finally began to slow to a stop at the edge of the Aughgar's banks, tired and thirsty enough to bother resting for a few moments. Dropping the body of the rabbit and crossing over to the water first, Dyani let her tongue loll out to take deep sips of the liquid beneath, lifting her head and watching the droplets take their suicide plunge off of her muzzle before trudging back over to her kill, lowering herself into a laying position as she began to gnaw at the body of the small creature.
The fact that she could be met with hostility for not only trespassing but daring to hunt upon claimed territory never even occurred to the young female as she laid there, sprawled out in the sun with seemingly no care in the world. The fact that she had yet to sense the presence of another wolf despite the scent markers strewn about the lands made it quite clear to her that this land wasn't nearly as well protected as its alpha likely wanted to think it was, and in any case, if any hostile pack members came along she could likely easily make the excuse that she had captured the rabbit outside of their territory, become disoriented by the heat, and wandered here by accident.
It wasn't as if many wolves would dispute the words of such a delicate-looking female, after all. Time spent among the ranks of her old pack had taught her that she could use her good looks to her advantage, and she fully intended on doing so should she be discovered.
