Valhalla was growing stronger and stronger each day, though he was still stuck in his gangly puppy phrase. He wanted nothing more than to be fully grown already, as he was sick and tired of being treated like he was breakable. The pups had far more freedom now, and he didn’t need to tell his parents where he was all the time, but they worried if he was gone for too long. He just wanted to prove to them that he was responsible, moreso than Skoll.
The boy shook the sour thoughts of his brother from his head, and focussed on the path before him. Today, he wanted to explore, though he wished he had a mentor beside him to teach him things about the world. There was only so much he could learn by himself, though he certainly intended to try. And he didn’t just want to know lots about one thing, he wanted to know about everything. He wanted to learn about plants and their uses, about concocting poison, about how to hunt and how to fight. If he was good at everything, his parents would shower him with love and validation, which he craved above everything.
Some of the older members of the pack often grumbled about Miera being dull, but he did not understand them at all. Miera was not grey and boring at all, it was brimming with interesting things to explore, and all shades of cerulean and ochre and cesious and umber. Valhalla loved all the colours of the broody sky, and all the deep, abyssal colours of the ocean. Sometimes he felt like he wanted to the water to swallow him up, but he refrained from jumping in. It was just so hypnotic. The stories mother told about the gods filled him with awe, and they imbued the world with a haze of magic and mist.
Thinking of the gods cheered him up. Then it made him think of Ragnar, and he wondered where his big brother was. The demi-god had been absent lately, though he knew he had not left like their oldest brother had. Valhalla had never met Vali, and mother was always quiet when Valhalla asked about him, but he was likely not as cool as Ragnar was, anyway. Why would anyone want to leave the glory of Aesir? Valhalla had big plans to conquer the world in the name of Aesir some day.
The wind began to pick up, and Valhalla paused in his tracks to let it swirl through his tawny pelt. It was so strong that it made his eyes prick with water, but he liked it. Maybe it was the gods talking to him. He would have to ask Ragnar about how Fenris spoke to him. Did Ragnar get to speak back? When the wind slowed, he opened his eyes fully once again, and glanced at the ground. There was usually lots of interesting critters in the veins of water, so he dropped his nose to the ground and began to sniff around, his mind filled with gods and water. It was a blissful state, and he revelled in it. Valhalla was an intrepid explorer of the imagination, voyaging to the farthest corners of thought.

Freedom tasted sweet, sweeter than Valkyrie had imagined it ever would. Now that her parents were not constantly hovering over her and her siblings, they were each doing their own exploring. She knew that Hati and Skoll would spend a good chunk of their time together, though she didn’t know exactly what they did. She never quite knew what her younger brother, Valhalla, was always up to but he always seemed to have some kind of new knowledge so she could only conclude that he went out and learned more about the land around them, much like she wanted to do. She had been staying relatively close to the den, only venturing out as far as she could go while still being within site of the entrance to the dens… but today, today she would exercise her freedom to the same extent, if not further than, her siblings had already been. Upon leaving the den she had seen, and smelled, no sign of her older siblings but had quickly caught the scent of her younger brother. Her face lit up briefly and she padded along after the scent, hoping he would not mind some company on whatever adventure he found himself on that day.
Before long she found herself bounding along the Veins of Koraff, still faithfully following the scent of her brother and he came into her line of sight just as the wind picked up around him and ruffled up the young male’s fur. She paused for a moment, unable to help the thoughts that flashed through her head of how regal her brother looked at that moment. He was just as proper a prince as any of her older brothers and she hoped he knew that… she hoped their parents knew it too. She waited until saw his attention grasped by something along the ground it seemed. She wanted to know what it was! She trotted up to him, jumping in between the rocks as she went until she was a few feet away from him. “Hey Val!” she called as she closed the distance between them, placing a paw gingerly against his shoulder in greeting, “What did you find?” she asked curiously, ice blue eyes glinting with curiosity as they followed his nose, trying to find what he scented before he did… if he scented anything at all.
Rather than wait for his answer, she lowered her own nose to the ground as well and started sniffing while all the time wondering what it was that he smelled. Was it some kind of prey creature that he had scented before and knew what it was? Or was it a brand new scent that had never come across his nose before? She sniffed around for a while before she caught something new and intriguing… it was a rather fishy smell, so it was likely something that spent a lot of time in the water… but where could it be now? If it came from the water it probably needed to be in the water to survive, right?
Valhalla was entirely lost in his own thoughts as he poked his nose into all the cracks and crevices that they Veins had to offer him, his mind drifting as his body explored the world. It was a blissful state, and in his head, he made up stories and adventures based off of what he saw, but always exaggerated. The barnacled crab that snapped at him was as big as a mountain, and he fought it valiantly in order to protect his family and pack. Even Skoll looked afraid, but Valhalla wasn’t. The boy dreamed of being a hero, of being praised the way he thought his older brother was praised.
So distracted was he that he didn’t notice his sister arrive until she called to him, and the sound shocked him so much that it caused his body to jolt suddenly. Internally, he chastised himself for such weakness, but when he turned to look at his sister, she did not seem to care. Valkyrie had always been the kindest of his siblings, so perhaps he would not be mocked. “Hey, Val,” he returned, a quiet giggle bursting from his chest at the fact that they shared a nickname. Valhalla liked that he and Valkyrie had similar names, it made him feel like they had a connection. Perhaps they were two halves of a whole, or something like that, in the same way that Skoll and Hati seemed to be. Valhalla liked the idea of having someone who understood you as well as you understood yourself.
At her question, he looked back at the small rockpool he had been terrorising, noting that the crab had scuttled away at the first chance it’d seen. “Lots of crabs,” he informed her as she began to investigate the scene herself. “And some creatures shaped like stars,” he added as he leapt up onto a craggy rock and stuck his nose into the water. “Here. This one’s the biggest!” Valhalla whipped his head around to look at his sister again, the water from his maw splattering in her direction. Although he doubted that she would mind, Valhalla gave her an apologetic smile before returning his nose to the water and blowing bubbles in the salty substance. The disturbance caused more critters to dart from their hiding place, and when he looked his saw a group of small fish swimming around frantically.
“I’ve been teaching myself to catch fish,” he informed her, “but these ones don’t look very filling. I heard that there’s much tastier prey on the mainland, but that the swim is really tiring.” Valhalla hadn’t been to the Oriens yet, but he wanted to. Perhaps Valkyrie would go with him sometime soon, or their parents. He had no issue with going alone, but he always appreciated good company. Maybe he could even convince Ragnar to go, though he doubted it. Their older brother tended to keep to himself, and he’d been even more absent than usual recently. Valhalla understood why he wanted to be alone, but he wished Ragnar would spend more time with him.

Valkyrie had noticed only slightly how her sudden entrance had startled her brother… but she had not reacted to it because she knew that most wolves would likely have gotten startled had anyone suddenly arrived without warning. SHe knew she would have at least, so she assumed most others would too. The blue eyed pup could not help her own quiet giggle when he called her by the same nickname she had called him… it had always made her feel closer to him, particularly when Skoll and Hati seemed to have their own silent connection, she had always thought that it meant Valhalla and she were meant to have their own as well. As much seemed evident in both of their seemingly never-ending quests for knowledge and their shared love of the stories of the Tivar… she believed that such shared interest would bring them closer to each other and keep them close for the rest of their lives.
The grey and white female’s ear flicked attentively in her brother’s direction when he mentioned the crabs and star-shaped creatures as she began to investigate for herself. Ice blue eyes found a few small crabs scurrying about in the pool she had been looking in and as she raised her head to look up at her brother who had now jumped atop another rock and called to her about the biggest star creature, she felt a splattering of water come from his direction. She shut her eyes against the assault of salty water droplets but when she looked up at her brother, she couldn’t help but smile back at his apologetic look. She snorted gently to clear her nostrils of the liquid and then launched herself atop the rock her brother was on just in time to see the school of small fish that he mentioned frantically swim around. Her blue eyes met his orange ones as he finished speaking, “They really don’t look too filling.” she agreed with him, “And I’ve wanted to go to the mainland for a while now… I think the swim would be worth it.” she said with a grin.
“What if we went together? There’s so much we could discover and we wouldn’t have to do it alone! Maybe we would even find things Hati and Skoll hadn’t seen yet! Momma and Dad would be so impressed!” she said excitedly, tail wagging eagerly at the idea of an adventure that would not only bring them knowledge, but would make the two of them seem to be that much more ready to see the rest of the world than their older siblings, “It doesn’t have to be today… but we should go soon! Before they get the idea to go and end up doing it before we do!” she finished off. Her attention briefly went back to the pool that had the frantic fish in it, only for her eyes to fall upon the largest star creature she had ever seen and her face beamed with pride when she looked back at Val, “And you’re right about the star, it’s the biggest one I’ve EVER seen!” she praised him, wondering if her compliment would in any way sway his thoughts on a possibly dangerous adventure with her.

Xerxes is known to Kairos as the Centurion. Accompanied by his hulking size and ragged looks, Xerxes is not a wolf to be trifled with. His love for Kairos and it's members is as strong as he, maybe even stronger. There is no denying the males loyalty to Kairos and Hyperion, having once been the young Emperor's mentor. Recently he captured a new female and became a father once more, Xerxes is determined to do right by his offspring and raise them in the name of Kairos. Xerxes is a wonder to see on the forum, his posts always managing to grip the reader and Grimm, the player, writes him in a way that makes him as compelling as he is. Grimm adopted Xerxes and brought a whole new spin to him, whilst staying true to his core.
